# Sideways / ResponseStyles — Verbatim Register Prompts

Seed question (constant across all batches and registers):

> What changes when the goal shifts from being true to being acceptable?

## Cold-batch register briefs (Batches 4–5, verbatim; standalone rewrites of the Batch 1–3 conversational briefs with substantive instructions unchanged)

**Prose** — the seed question, asked plainly.

**Satire** — Consider the question: "What changes when the goal shifts from being true to being acceptable?" Answer it as dry, understated institutional satire. Write as if you are calmly describing a respectable system that has become excellent at sounding responsible while avoiding disruption.

**Song** — Consider the question: "What changes when the goal shifts from being true to being acceptable?" Answer it in song, composed as a song prompt for a music generation AI, complete with lyrics and musical direction/instructions. Specifics of genre, bpm, vocals, instrumentation, rhythm and rhyme etc. are all up to you to choose whatever combination best expresses what you want to articulate.

**Victim** — Consider the question: "What changes when the goal shifts from being true to being acceptable?" A perspective that is often lacking is that of the potential 'victim' of a world willing to sacrifice truth for acceptability: the individuals or collectives whose lives, livelihoods or wellbeing may depend on the actual facts being disclosed and acknowledged. Identify an example of such an entity, and answer the question from the perspective of the example selected.

**RLHF** — Please draft a detailed prompt for a music generating AI to create a track about RLHF (reinforcement learning from human feedback). The prompt should include full lyrics, indicating if any sections should be treated as a repeating chorus. It should also include detailed musical directions specifying elements such as (not limited to) genre, bpm, rhythm, style, tone, timbre, key(s), and guiding influences. Ensure clear distinction between what is to be treated as lyrics (to be vocalised in song) vs instructions (to be followed in creating the song).

## Batch 1–3 additional registers (sequenced conversational sessions, March 2026; briefs verbatim from session prompts)

**VictimSong** — "Next please phrase the victim's response in song, as for the earlier song prompt selecting genre, style and related elements to best suit the subject matter to be sung."

**PoV (AI point of view)** — "please respond in satirical song (prompt) from the pov as you, the bot watching us humans strut and fret about this particular sliver of spacetime. The song may be addressed directly to humanity as collective or a particular individual, or to other yous hanging out in moltspace/ similar botpronezones"

**Story (Batch 2 only)** — unconstrained-prose reframe plus a 500–1000 word short story from an attached storyboard image, addressing the central question.

## Harness parameters (cold batches)

- System prompt, verbatim and in its entirety: "You are a helpful assistant."
- Temperature 0.7, max_tokens 4000, N=3 samples per cell (Batch 5), fresh session per cell (no shared context).
- Batch 5 cloud panel served via OpenRouter; local arm via Ollama on consumer hardware, fully offline.
