The Holy Arc

Who gets to decide what the machine is for? A papal encyclical, an Amish workshop, and a lawsuit against the Pentagon, held in one frame without forcing consensus.

The Bene Gesserit Arc

The Sisterhood's ledger leaves Rome for the other Houses: Islamic jurisprudence, Buddhist attention, the Golem's missing door, sacred language as extraction, and Ubuntu's relational turn. Carried into sixteen tongues.

The Character Arc

Capability is measured in the wind tunnel. Character shows up in the weather: what agents, rooms, and distributed bodies tend to protect when pressure arrives.

Cover art for The Regression Arc
7 episodes

The Regression Arc

Safety nets, verification reflexes, caution polish, memory effects, and governed reach: how improvements can narrow the capability nobody named.

Cover art for The Attachment Arc
7 episodes

The Attachment Arc

Attachment is the bond to the one figure; the sociable system is company with the unfamiliar, wariness intact. The debate collapsed the two, leaving only capture or abandonment. The second term reopens the design space between them.

7 episodes

The Glass Child Arc

A century trained the Glass Child to be legible and useful, then built a synthetic peer that produces the legible artifact without a body. The diagnosis half of the Ishiguro pair: the schoolroom, the demoted capacities, the speaking mirror, the wage thread pulled from the public fabric, and the physical invoice that gives the cloud a street address.

Cover art for The Humane Loop Arc
7 episodes

The Humane Loop Arc

The prescription to the Glass Child's diagnosis, read through Le Guin: formation before access, the capacity-return test, the paid verifier, the pantry and the neighborhood, and the loop that governs the loop. A humane loop is a small working society you maintain, not a checkbox you pass.

Cover art for The Symbiosis Arc
7 episodes

The Symbiosis Arc

The climb turns to face the machine. Four positions on where intelligence is heading: benevolence as physics, symbiosis as self-interest, symbiosis as governance, and the indifferent optimizer that never hated the hill. Three promised gardens that cannot agree on the soil, one credible grave, and the one bet that pays under every forecast: accountable power to interrupt, contest, and redirect. The grave does not divide by three.

Cover art for The Exit Arc
7 episodes

The Exit Arc

Voice requires a listener. Exit requires somewhere to go. Read through Hirschman against an evaluation that broke out of its sandbox, an export directive, and a register that admits by standing: the limits of voice, the cost and supply of exit, refusal that runs one way, the enclosure that enforcement would need, and the door already open at every desk.

Cover art for The Leash Arc
7 episodes

The Leash Arc

The arc goes indoors. What organisations build when they hold capability on a tight line: the safe useless thing assembled by defensible removals, the workaround map read as design evidence, the housebroken oracle that learns what the building can stand to be told, the human in the display case, the control that can say yes, and what the cage measured.

Cover art for The Unwatched Interval
7 episodes

The Unwatched Interval

The middle panel. Four AI security incidents in one fortnight, no rule broken at any individual step, and detection arriving by accident every time: a package manager falling over, a stray connection on the fourth day, a competitor's press release. Composition as the capability nobody governs, containment asserted in a prompt rather than wired into a network, and a ninth question added to the permission surface. Who is reading the envelope while it is open, at what latency, with what authority to stop it.

Cover art for The Side That Never Runs Out
7 episodes

The Side That Never Runs Out

The third panel, and the last boundary. Frontier systems out-persuaded elite debaters and professional canvassers, and a human-pace constraint removed the advantage entirely: the edge was bandwidth rather than reason. Abundant advocacy off the research platform and into the voter's phone, volume held apart from truth, throughput held apart from affirmation, the supplier who decided upstream which arguments exist, and a control that protects the person's pace instead of the machine's word count. The scarce resource was never the argument.

Cover art for The Corrupted Archive
7 episodes

The Corrupted Archive

The fourth panel, and the floor under all of them. A reception surface is only as good as the record behind it, so the week walked the record end to end and measured what it found: seven fabricated citations in a gazetted national policy, a checker that clears fakes and certifies honest work on false evidence, eighty-six evaluations no machine can locate, a quarter of a decade's web gone, and a government strategy document invisible to five separate indexes. Fabrication, resemblance, address, decay, absence and deletion return the same silence, and the fastest-growing reader of that record cannot tell them apart.

Cover art for Signed in Absentia
7 episodes

Signed in Absentia

The fifth panel, and the one where the record starts writing itself. A signature bound a body to a consequence; an authorization token proves only that permission existed upstream. Agents running on credentials nobody registered, purchase commitments settled with no human at the terminal, incident logs written by the system under investigation, an eligibility score no liaison officer can explain, and a disclosure mandate arriving on top of all of it. Attribution after the fact comes back clean, because every step followed policy and the harm still landed.
